Accessing the Drive Bays
SATA and SCSI Drives: Because of their hotswap capability, you do not need to
access the inside of the chassis or power down the system to install or replace
SATA or SCSI drives. Proceed to the next step for instructions.
Note:
You must use standard 1" high, SATA/SCSI drives in the 1020P-T(R)/1020P-
8(R).
DVD/CD-ROM/Floppy Disk Drives: For installing/removing a DVD/CD-ROM or
fl oppy disk drive, you will need to gain access to the inside of the system by remov-
ing the top cover of the chassis. Proceed to the "DVD/CD-ROM and Floppy Drive
Installation" section later in this chapter for instructions.
Note:
Only "slim" DVD/CD-ROM and fl oppy drives will fi t into the 1020P-T(R)/
1020P-8(R). The procedures for installing and removing SATA [1020P-T(R)] and
SCSI [1020P-8(R)] drives are the same.
