Warning!
We do not recommend that the CPU or the heatsink be
removed. However, if you do need to uninstall the heatsink, please
follow the instructions below to prevent damage to the CPU or the
CPU socket.

Installing the Heatsink
CEK Passive Heatsink
1. Do not apply any thermal grease
to the heatsink or the CPU die; the
required amount has already been
applied.
2. Place the heatsink on top of the CPU
so that the four mounting holes are
aligned with those on the (preinstalled)
heatsink retention mechanism.
3. Screw in two diagonal screws (i.e.
the #1 and the #2 screws) until just
snug. Do not fully tighten the screws
or you may damage the CPU.)
4. Add the two remaining screws then
fi nish the installation by fully tightening
all four screws.
Removing the Heatsink
1. Unscrew and remove the heatsink screws from the motherboard in the sequence as
show in the picture on the right.
2. Hold the heatsink as show in the picture on the right and gently wriggle the heatsink
to loosen it from the CPU. (Do not use excessive force when wriggling the heatsink!!)
3. Once the CPU is loosened, remove the heatsink from the CPU socket.
4. Clean the surface of the CPU and the heatsink to get rid of the old thermal grease.
Reapply the proper amount of thermal grease on the surface before you re-install the
CPU and the heatsink.
