Installation
• Undo the lock nut (c) from the adapter (b).
• Drill a hole with a diameter of 50 mm in the wall of the filter, below the water level of the filter, in
a place where enough water can flow past(B).
• Undo the fastening nut (d) from the adapter.
• Insert the adapter into the hole, ensuring that the O-ring (j) is between the adapter and the filter
wall (outside of the filter).
• Tighten the fastening nut (d) back on the adapter, on the inside of the filter.
• Carefully unpack the UV lamp (g) and insert the lamp into the lamp holder (f).
• Carefully slide the lamp and lamp holder into the quartz glass (e). Make sure that the micro-
switch is in the recess. The micro-switch is an extra security, it ensures that the UV lamp is always
switched off automatically when disassembling (in case you forgot to switch off the UV lamp).
• Make sure the O-ring (h) is placed in the right position.
• Carefully slide the assembly into the adapter, make sure the O-ring (i) is positioned correctly.
• Tighten the lock nut (c) hand-tight at the adapter.
• Check the whole assembly for possible leaks..
• Make sure that the UV lamp is completely submerged and the filter cover is closed before
inserting the plug into the wall socket.
• On the ballast, all the lights will flash and the green one will stay on.
Maintenance
• The UVC device should be cleaned twice a year. As soon as algae growth increases, check the UVC
and UV-lamp and clean or exchange as needed.
• The lamp is hot, wait 10 minutes after switch off before opening the unit.
• Ensure that the water is drained out of the filter.
• Undo the lock nut (c) and remove the lamp holder (f) with the UV lamp (g) and the quartz glass (e)
from the adapter. If necessary, you can also replace the lamp (see LED-indication).
• Clean the quartz glass outer face with a soft cloth and SuperFish UVC Clean carefully.
After cleaning, rince quartz glass with clean tap water thoroughly and check for damage.
• Reinstall everything, making sure the O-rings are correctly positioned.
• Tighten the lock nut (c) hand-tight at the adapter.
LED indication for the lifetime of the UV-lamp
• The LEDs (C) on the ballast indicates the lifetime of the UV lamp.
Green LED (l): 0 to 8.000 hours, the lamp produces 100% UV-C radiation.
Orange LED (m): 8.000 to 12.000 hours. The operation of the UV lamp is no longer optimal,
decide for yourself whether you will already replace the UV lamp.
Red LED (r): more than 12.000 hours, you have to replace the UV lamp.
• After replacing the UV lamp, you must reset the device. Press and hold the push button (k) for
5 seconds. After this, the green LED will come on again and the device has been reset.
• The lifetime of the UV lamp depends also on the number of on/off switches.
The device remembers the number of operating hours of the lamp when switched off.
