Maintenance
For service or parts please contact your Sulzer representative. DO NOT attempt service other than
that described in this section.
Remove and lock out supply power.
After first 3 months, then every 6 months or if solids not processed.
Check cutters for wear, (for inline units remove inspection
cover) edges should not be rounded. (See Allowable wear
tolerances).
Check cutter stack tightness.
If loose or worn, refer Troubleshooting.
Every 12 months routine maintenance should be carried out.
Check cutter stack tightness and cutters for wear.
Remove drive assembly, then remove top and bottom covers. If
top gear housing is contaminated with effluent, contact your local
Sulzer service centre.
Prior to refitting top and bottom covers, fit new gaskets.
Every 5 years:
Remove drive assembly, top cover and old grease (see figure).
Inspect gears for damage or wear, replace if necessary, then replenish
grease (see Lubrication table).
