1-1
SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION AND SAFETY
The 7-Shred-1-H industrial grinder reduces
materials to a uniform size.
The grinder is mounted horizontally in a stand
provided by JWCE or others.
The top-mounted electric motor with oil filled
reducer drive rotates the grinder cutter drive shaft.
Motors are available in several sizes from 25 to
100Hp.
The drive shaft is coupled to the driven shaft with
drive gears in the top of the grinder. Refer to the
motor data sheets for the motor provided with this
grinder.
The dual shafted cutter array with opposing cutters
reduces irregularly shaped materials into a uniform
size.
Reduced materials exit the grinder for disposal or
for further processing.
For most applications, the grinder has an input
hopper for guiding materials into the cutter stack.
Large hoppers may require additional support.
Interconnecting wires and cables is provided and
installed by others.
Refer to Table 1-1 for grinder specifications and
Table 1-2 for materials used. Refer to the
configuration and assembly drawings in Section 6
for dimensions, parts lists and component location.
