Upper Evaporator Fan Assembly
The upper evaporator fan assembly is attached to the
rear wall of the compartment with screws.
To remove the upper evaporator fan assembly, first
remove the fan cover and upper duct, then (See Figure
5-20):
1.
Disconnect fan motor electrical leads.
2.
Pull fan blade from fan motor shaft.
3.
Extract screw from the P-clamp holding fan wires.
4.
Extract fan bracket mounting screws and pull
assembly from the compartment.
5.
Extract fan motor mounting screws and pull motor
from bracket.
Upper Evaporator Thermistor
The upper evaporator thermistor is inserted six to ten
inches into the opening below the third elbow on the left
side of the evaporator.
To remove the evaporator thermistor, first remove the
upper fan cover and duct, then (See Figure 5-21):
1.
Pull thermistor from evaporator.
2.
Cut thermistor’s wire leads six to twelve inches from
the back wall, then pull thermistor from compart-
ment.
Upper Compartment Thermistor
The upper compartment thermistor is attached to the
hinge side wall in a clamp.
To remove a compartment thermistor, first remove the
upper duct cover, then (See Figure 5-22):
1.
Remove the slides from the thermistor side of the
compartment.
2.
Pull the hinge side spacer panel forward, then feed
the thermistor through the hinge side spacer panel.
3.
Extract screws from hinge side evaporator cover.
4.
Feed thermistor through the lower and upper grom-
met of the hinge side evaporator cover.
5.
Cut thermistor’s wire leads six to twelve inches from
the back wall, then pull thermistor from compart-
ment.
