6 COMMISSIONING
Before running water through the system, ensure all building debris is
removed from the shower tray and gully.
6.11 The shower waste pump will operate automatically as soon as the required level
of water enters the shower tray.
6.12 The pump will start slowly, while the controller automatically adapts the speed of
the pump to the flow of water into the gully.
6.13 First check that the pump starts after operating the shower.
6.14 Run the shower for a few minutes and check that all connections are watertight.
6.15 Now turn off the shower, to check the purge cycle.
6.16 The purge cycle will start 60 seconds after the last operation of the pump. The
purge cycle will last for 15 seconds.
7 MAINTENANCE
Acid based descalents and aggressive cleaning agents must not
come into contact with the unit.
If in any doubt as to the suitability of the chemical solutions,
please contact our PumpAssist Helpline.
As water is heated scale deposits are released in areas of hard
water. It is recommended that a non acid based descalent is used
to remove limescale. To be carried out every three months.
There should be no dripping from the shower, as this will cause
the pump to operate.
Do not use the shower in the event of a power failure.
7.11 Once installed the pump and controller will not require special maintenance in
normal working conditions.
5 PIPE CONNECTIONS AND FINAL ASSEMBLY
5.11 The pump can now be assembled onto the bracket, and the pipe connections
completed as shown in Fig. 11.
5.12 The 22 mm fitting (L) must be assembled as shown. Fit the nut over the pipe,
then push the grab ring, washer and seal onto the pipe until the end of the seal
is level with the end of the pipe. Now position the pipe into the connector, and
secure the nut, but do not tighten at this stage. Finally push the pipe into the
connector until the internal pipe stop is met, and secure the nut.
5.13 Complete the assembly by fitting the housing (H), and fixing using the screws (J)
and washers (I) provided.
