Problem / Failure
Recommended Action
Improper operation of the CPR positioning:
Gatch does not lower and/or the Fowler actuator
does not reset .
•
Check the two CPR limit switches and replace if needed .
The weight shown on the scale display (optional)
is incorrect .
•
Zero the bed without the patient on it (see the “Scale System
Usage” section in the Operations Manual) .
•
Calibrate the scale .
Scale display (optional) reads OVERLOAD or
shows incorrect weight .
•
The weight on the bed is greater than the scale capacity .
•
If the patient weight is greater than 500 lb (227 kg), do not use
the scale . If that is not the case, zero the scale without the
patient on the bed .
•
Ensure equipment added to the bed was done using the “Add/
Remove Equipment Procedure” (see the Operations Manual) .
•
One or more load cell cables are not properly connected or
completely disconnected from the scale control board (see
Figure 13,
) for the connecting positions of the load
cell cable) .
Angle shown on the scale display (optional) is
incorrect .
•
Calibrate the scale .
Scale display (optional) does not turn on when
the scale is activated .
•
Verify the bed has power .
•
Press ENTER key twice .
•
Unhook the foot board from the bed by lifting it off the connec-
tors . Ensure the connectors match correctly and press the foot
board down firmly to reconnect it to the bed .
•
Check the Scale user interface cable connection to the scale
control board (J6 connector, see drawing OL280005L,
) .
Scale (optional) displays “No scale found” .
•
Press the ENTER key . If message persists, contact our Technical
Service . If message disappears, data displayed is correct and
current procedure can be resumed .
All lockout LEDs (padlock icons) flash or
“ERROR” appears at the bottom of the LCD
display .
•
The scale is unable to measure the weight due to an electrical
problem . Please contact our Technical Service .
Bed Exit system (optional) does not operate
properly .
•
Verify the load cell cable connections to the scale control board
(see Figure 13,
) for the load cell cable connection
positions) .
Bed Exit system (optional) does not work at all
or alarm goes off when Bed Exit is activated .
•
Check the load cell cable connections to the scale control board

Nurse call (optional) or Bed Exit (optional) signal
does not reach the nurse desk .

Verify the bed has power .
•
