4. Trouble-Shooting
For Messages and Errors relating to the Recirculation Cooling Unit,
please refer to the Cooli Instruction Manual.
Error Explanation Action
Indications on the Front Panel
OVERLOAD Emergency stop active. Solve the problem causing the
emergency stop, then release the
emergency stop.
Cutting motor overloaded due to
heavy use.
Open the protection guard and let
the cutting motor cool down for
about 5 - 10 min.
FLUSH Lights when cooling valve is in
flushing position.
Cooling water is stopped.
Turn the knob on the cooling valve
counter-clockwise to vertical
position for cooling of cut-off wheel.
Machine Problems
The cut-off wheel does not rotate. The protection guard open. Press the safety guard completely
down. If this does not help:
Call a Struers service technician.
Chamber light does not work. Fuse F2 or the bulb may have
blown.
Replace fuse F2 or the bulb
( NB 230V). The F2 fuse is placed
behind the back plate.
Water leaking. Leak in a hose of Recirculation
Cooling Unit.
Check the hose and tighten the
hose clamp.
Water overflow in the cooling water
tank.
Remove the excess water in the
tank.
Workpieces or cutting chamber
rusty.
Insufficient additive for cooling fluid. Add Struers Additive for cooling fluid
to the cooling water, using the
correct concentration. Check with a
refractometer. Follow the
instructions in the Section
Maintenance.
The machine is left with closed
protection guard.
Leave the protection guard open to
let the cutting chamber dry.
Protection guard window blurred. Insufficient cleaning. Clean with mild soapy water (do not
use the cleaning hose).
The protection guard will not open. The safety lock has stuck. Open the lock with a thin flat screw
driver. Clean and lubricate the lock.
Follow the Weekly service
instructions in Section Maintenance
to avoid the situation.
Quick-clamping device unable to
hold the workpiece.
The quick-clamping device is not in
balance.
Adjust the screw underneath the
clamping column. Use a 3 mm
hexagon key.
Clamping heart worn. Call Struers service technician.
