CAUTION:
The blade has a sharpened razor edge, for the cleanest cut always cut in the direction on the
sharpened edge.
1. Loosen the screws on the blade holders with the wrench.
2. Slide the blade under the square pressure plate until snug.
3. Securely tighten screws to assure the proper electrical connection. Do not over-tighten.
4. Once the blade is firmly in place, plug in the Unit into a standard power supply.
5. The temperature control knob has 16 click settings that correspond to the graduated ridges on the surface.
The smaller the ridge the lower the power setting.
6. Press the trigger to use.
7. Release the trigger to turn off the device.
8. When the blade has cooled completely, store the Hot Knife in a clean, dry and safe place away from children
and other unauthorized persons.
CAUTION:
Excessive power output and heat generation may cause the blade holders to overheat resulting in
damage to the unit. Use only the power output for proper cutting. The blade does not need to be red hot
to move through foamed plastics.
USE:
Pull the trigger to start cutting the desired material. It is recommended during cutting to maintain a
consistent temperature and speed. No smoke should be generated. If there is smoke, either the material has
been cut too slowly or the blade is too hot. Either case will result in an uneven cut. Use the switch to lower
the temperature and turn off the device occasionally during cutting. Switch it on again when you encounter
growing resistance. The blade will be heated to the preset operating temperature within a few seconds. This
lets you make the desired cut with minimum smoke and also extends the blade’s life. Turn off the device
when about 2.5 - 5 cm is left to be cut. This keeps the blade clean and dirt from accumulating after you finish
cutting. The blade should not be more than three-quarters the thickness of the cut material (because the
blade is cooling while the material is cut, the extended part could overheat and become deformed).
