Cleaning the lid and filter

Any scale particles that remain suspended in your water supply may give it a
cloudy or greasy appearance, depending on the hardness of the water. The filter
built into the lid of your kettle will prevent these particles passing into your drink.
You must ensure that the filter is kept clean and clear of deposits, otherwise the
performance of your kettle may be adversely affected, your drinks may contain
scale particles, and the water inside the kettle may look cloudy.
Clean the anti-scale filter regularly, or whenever you notice any deposits left on it,
and especially if pouring is affected in any way. The filter is located within the lid
of the kettle. It is not removable.

WARNING!

Before cleaning the lid and filter, make sure the power base is switched off and

unplugged and the kettle is empty and completely cool.

•  To clean the filter, prepare a descaling solution in a small bowl, following the

"Descaling" instructions and using hot water and a proprietary descaling
solution, vinegar or lemon juice.

•  Remove the lid from the kettle and place it with the filter side in the bowl. Do not

immerse the lid entirely. Leave the filter soaking in the solution for five minutes.

•  Gently rub off any limescale residues with your fingers and then rinse the filter

thoroughly.

•  Replace the lid onto the kettle. Never operate the kettle without the lid in place.

Storage

•  Before storing the appliance, make sure it is dry and unplugged.
•  When in storage or not in use, the power cord may be wound around the cord

storage underneath the power base.

•  Store the kettle in the original carton, which will protect it from dust, in a clean

and dry place, out of children's reach.

Descaling with water and lemon:

Half-fill the kettle with tap water and add the juice of 1 lemon.

Boil this mixture and let it stand for 15 minutes before discarding.

Fill the kettle with fresh, clean water, let it boil and then discard the water.

Repeat with clean, fresh water until all traces of lemon are removed.
