Removing and Installing
the Engine
Always check and, if necessary, repair
the fuel system, carburetor, air filter
and ignition system before looking for
faults on the engine.
- Remove handle housing see
- Remove the flywheel - see 5.1.5.
- Remove the oil pump - see 10.3.
- Remove the muffler - see 4.1.
- Pull the terminal off the spark plug
and unscrew the spark plug.
- Remove the ignition lead from
the retainer and groove on the
cover.
- Take out the cover mounting
screws and lift the cover away.
- Remove the ground wire
fastening screw from the
cylinder.
- Remove the collar stud next to
the brake band.
Important:
The collar stud is installed
with Loctite. Use hot air blower (e.g.
hair dryer) to heat engine pan around
the collar stud.
- Remove the engine pan mounting
screws from the cylinder.
