Mount the components
ve ry carefully so as not to impair the safety
and efficiency of the machine. If in doubt, con-
tact your dealer.
For safety reasons during transportation, the lithium
ion accumulator is completely flat when delivered
and packed separately.
Ensure that the accumulator is not inserted in its
compartment.
Charge the accumulator before using the tool fol-
lowing the instructions in the “Charging the accu-
mulator” chapter.
Unpacking and complet-

ing the assembly should be done on a flat and
stable surface, with enough space for moving
the machine and its packaging, always making
use of suitable equipment.
Disposal of the packaging should be done in ac -
cordance with the local regulations in force.
1. MOUNTING THE FRONT GUARD
(If supplied separately) - (Fig.1)

4. MACHINE ASSEMBLY
1. CHECKING THE MACHINE
Ensure that the accumu-
lator is not inserted in its compartment.
Before starting work please:
– check that the trigger switches and the safety
switch should move freely without forcing and re-
turn automatically and rapidly back to their neu-
tral position;
– check that the cooling air vents are not ob-
structed;
– check that the power cable and extension lead
are not damaged;
– check that handgrips and protection devices are
clean and dry, correctly mounted and well fas-
tened to the machine;
– check that the machine is not showing signs of
wear or damage due to knocks or other causes,
and carry out the necessary repairs.
– check that the accumulator is in good working con-
dition and there are no signs of damage. Never
use the machine with a damaged or worn accu-
mulator;
– charge the accumulator according to the in-
structions in the “Charging the accumulator”
chapter.
2. CHARGING THE ACCUMULATOR (Fig. 2)
If the accumulator (1) is already in its seat on the tool
(2), press both side buttons on the accumulator (1)
and pull it outwards to extract it.
Check that the socket mains
voltage is the same as that indicated on the battery
charger plate.
IMPORTANT
WARNING!
To recharge the accumulator, proceed as follows:
– connect the battery charger (4) to a mains pow-
er socket; a green indicator light (5) will come on
indicating there is voltage;
– connect the battery charger (4) plug (3) to the ac-
cumulator socket (1).
If the indicator light does not
come on, check that power is supplied to the
mains socket.
The indicator light (5) will go from green to red in-
dicating that accumulator charging has begun.
When the accumulator is completely charged, the
indicator light (5) will go from red to green and
recharging will stop automatically.
It takes about 3-5 hours to complete the recharge
process, according to the starting status of the ac-
cumulator.
It is not necessary to check the recharge time.
The accumulator will heat up during the recharge
process. This is normal and is not due to defects or
faults.
An alternating flashing red/
green indicator light (5) indicates that the accumulator
is broken or burned out and will not accept the charg-
ing. In this situation, unplug the battery charger and
do not attempt to recharge; take the accumulator to
a service centre to verify and/or replace it.
When recharging has been completed,
– position the charged accumulator (1) in its seat
on the tool, pushing inwards until both side but-
tons click into place; the accumulator will only fit
inside the tool when inserted correctly
– disconnect the battery charger (4) from the
mains socket when not in use.
