6. Cleaning, care and maintenance
6.1 Descaling
Almost every type of water deposits limescale at high temperatures.
Therefore, it is necessary to descale the appliance every so often.
Risk of scalding!
Descalers that generate a lot of foam can result in the
appliance overflowing which would put users at risk.
»
Use environmentally friendly formic acid-based descaling
agents.
»
Do not boil the water while descaling.

When the appliance has cooled down, open the lid.
»
Pour in the recommended amount of water and descaler and
close the lid again.
»
Turn the temperature selector to the descale setting (see
diagram).
»
Switch the appliance on by pressing the temperature selector.
»
Leave the descaling agent to take effect and repeat the heating
process if necessary.
»
Draw off all the water and rinse the appliance out several times
with cold water.
»
Boil the maximum possible volume of water and draw this water
off once again.
6.2 cleaning
»
Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents. A damp cloth
is sufficient for cleaning the appliance.
The inside of the appliance's glass container can be cleaned if
necessary:
»
Isolate the appliance from the power supply.
»
When the appliance has cooled down, open the lid.
»
Clean the container and heating element without using any
objects with sharp edges.
»
Close the lid and plug in the mains plug again.
»
If necessary, rinse out the appliance in order to remove any
cleaning agent residue.
