Wind and rain detector WRM/2 24V and Rain detector RM/2 24V
Function
The WRM/2 24V wind and rain detector and the RM/2 24V rain detector close
dome lights and roof and/or facade windows automatically at the onset of rain,
snow or wind*. They are intended for connection to SHE or ventilation control
units. The required 24 V AC/DC/110 mA voltage supply is provided by these
control units.
Neither 24 V nor 230 V drives can be connected directly. At the onset of rain or
snow, or if wind speeds* exceed the pre-programmed switching threshold, the
integrated electronic evaluation system in the wind and rain detector issues a
CLOSE command.
The SHE or ventilation control unit processes this command and the relevant
opening units are closed. The opening units will not open again until the rain/
snow has stopped, the rain sensor surface is dry and the wind speed has drop
-
ped below the switching threshold level.
The wind and rain detector and the rain detector are housed in a weather-
resistant plastic case with a cup anemometer*, heated rain sensor surface and
electronic evaluation system.
The sensor surface heating operates at temperatures below 10 °C and in rain
or snow up to a maximum ambient temperature of 50 °C. In solar mode the
heating is normally switched off.
The detectors are mounted in a suitable position on the roof. The mounting
bracket is included in the scope of supply; the stand tube should be ordered
separately as an accessory part.
The wind speed and the switch-on delay (the interval after which the unit
should react to the wind speed) can be adjusted on site *. A DIP switch can be
used to allow the wind sensor and/or the rain sensor to be deactivated separa-
tely and to be switched from continuous operation to pulse operation.
Special features
• energy-efficient heating
• with integrated electronic evaluation system
• supply voltage 20 – 30 V DC or 20 - 28 V AC
• suitable for solar ventilation system
• potential-free changeover contact output
• wind pulse transmission can be via separate output*
Note:
The WRM/2 wind and rain detector and the RM/2 rain detector
are suitable for several different types of control unit. Please take note of the
DIP switch configuration inside the detector unit (see DIP switch mode).
* only for the WRM/2 with transmission via relay output
Please keep these operating instructions for future reference and maintenance.
