Cabane Struts (continued)
57.
Dry fit two C2’s to the notches in C1 (sheet 08/09, 1/32 in. ply), oriented so that the arrows on both
C2’s point in the same direction.
58.
Fit the cabane strut assembly to the four slots on either side, and just in front, of the cockpit, oriented
with the arrows on the C2’s pointing
forward
. Bond C1 to both C2’s.
Do not bond the assembly to the
fuselage!
Remove the cabane assembly, paint accordingly (we chose brown), and set it aside until needed in the
Final Assembly.
Final Assembly
1.
Covering.
Cover your model with a high quality, light weight, iron on material. We recommend
AeroLITE, available from stevensaero.com. Leave the aft of the fuselage bottom uncovered for now.
It will be covered after the push rods are installed. Cover only the top surface of the wings, prior to
doing so, we like to apply a light coat of paint and/or wood sealer to the underside of the wing
assembly. Covering the bottom of the wings will deteriorate the low-speed performance of your
model. Cover both sides of the tail surfaces.
2.
Engine Detail.
Fit and bond the Engine Detail to the slots in F6.
3.
Fit and bond the cylinders to the holes on each side of the Engine Detail.
4.
Pushrods and Receiver.
Refer to the Pushrod detail on the detail sheet. Make a “snake” bend at
one end of each of the .015 in. pushrod wires supplied in your kit.
5.
Fit the snake bend on each pushrod to the servo tabs on the receiver brick [PKZ3352].
Note:
The
holes in the tabs are different sizes. Fit the pushrod to the
middle
hole.
