Final Assembly
(continued)
81.
Push Rods:
Trim the push rods about 1/4 in. short of the control horns on the rudder and
elevator.
82.
Refer to the
Push Rod Detail
drawing on the plan set, and make up two “Part Bs” from the
remaining .015 in. push rod wire.
83.
Fit “Part B” to the control horns, and connect them to the push rods, using short lengths of
pre-shrunk, heat-shrink tubing. Please refer to the
Push Rod Detail
drawing and
instructions on the plan set.
84.
Test fit scale model engine to notch in
front
of fuselage. Make sure scale model engine
does not interfere with the operation of the electric motor or gearbox. Bond scale model
engine in position with medium CA.
85.
Mount the wing with two #16 rubber bands. View the model from the
front
and
top
.
Make sure that the wing sits level and is perpendicular
(forms a 90 degree angle)
to the
sides of the fuselage.
86.
Mount the foam spinner to the
front
of propeller (EFL9051, available from
stevensaero.com). Use a drop of medium CA glue.
Note:
Spinner is provided with
propeller set.
Tip:
Front
of propeller can be identified by looking for the size markings
molded on the face of the blades.
87.
Fit the propeller to the gearbox drive shaft. Grasp the nylon gear, to prevent the shaft from
turning while installing propeller onto the threaded drive shaft.
88.
Finishing touches.
Pro Builder Tip:
Use an extra length of 1/16 in. heat shrink tubing to fabricate a plug wire
for the scale model engine.
Congratulations!
