Stellar Hearth Products

The provided damper clamp must be installed to ensure a minimum opening to the flue and prevent an accidental
closing of the damper.

When the gas log set is operating, the damper must be fully opened.

To install the damper clamp:
1.  Open the fireplace damper.
2.  Place the damper clamp over the damper blade where it is at its highest point, such that, when the damper

blade is closed, the clamp blocks from sealing against the flue wall.

3.  Tighten the set screw of the damper clamp with pliers to ensure it is held firmly on the damper blade.  The

clamp must be permanently installed.

4.

If the damper clamp does not fit, install a permanent damper stop or provide another means to prevent the
damper from fully sealing when in the closed position.

Prior to installing the gas log burner, ensure that the gas supply to the fireplace has been turned off at its source,
and the firebox is completely clean of ashes or debris.  Remove the cap from the gas supply line that’s stubbed
into the firebox.

1.  Place the chassis as far back in the firebox as possible, and center it right to left, with the open end facing out-

ward.

2.  Locate the flexible gas line on the backside of the insert chassis and carefully bend it around so that it lines up

with the gas supply line in the firebox. If needed, the flexible gas line can be re-routed to exit the left side.  Re-
move the back metal panel and remove the gas line.  Re-route the gas line through the knock-out in the left
side.  Replace the back metal panel and bend the right side knock-out back into place.

3.  Apply Teflon tape or pipe compound to the threads of the male pipe connections of the gas supply line.
4.  Connect the provided shut-off valve to the gas supply line, ensuring that a gas shutoff valve is present in the

system to meet local codes.

5.  Test all connections by applying soapy water (equal parts soap and water) at the connection points and turning

on the gas flow.  If any bubbles develop, there is a leak.  Shut the gas source off and tighten the fittings.  Re-
peat this procedure until no more bubbles appear.  Be sure to test all joints in the system.

6.  Turn off the gas supply and proceed to the next step in the installation.
