13. THE PARALLEL CONTROL UNIT
All the functions and indications displayed on the main control unit are also displayed on the
parallel control unit.
Operating the parallel control unit is the same as for the main unit. You can enter all functions
by pressing the corresponding buttons and you can recognise the operational situation or
reports from the LED's.
The arming, disarming and remote switching can then be two-way, i.e. you can arm the system
at one control unit and disarm at the other, or you can switch on a switching socket at one con-
trol unit and switch it off at the other.
The "remote switching via the motion detector" function is related to the corresponding control
unit, i.e. you can only switch this function off at the control unit where it was switched on. You
can only delete the "link", as to which motion detector should switch on which switching soc-
ket, at the control unit at which you allocated the "link".
If the system is armed, the control units monitor each other mutually, i.e. if one of the units
ceases to operate, the other triggers an alarm (tamper alarm).
The function automatic switching device can be switched on or off at either control units. The
amount of light in the room, can only be determined by the main control unit. We recommend,
that if you wish to give a neighbour one of the control units, you keep the main unit in your
own house. Otherwise the lights in your neighbours house could affect the functions of the
automatic switching device in your house.
Once initial operation has taken place and all system component functions are stored, you can
allocate which unit is to be the main control unit and which is to be the parallel one (by con-
necting or removing one unit from the main power supply). If one control unit is operating for at
least 15 minutes alone - i.e. the other control unit is removed from the power supply for this
length of time - it will be automatically allocated as main control unit. It is only for the operation
of the automatic switching device, that you need to know which is the main and which is the
parallel control unit.
To select which unit should be the main and which the parallel unit, remove the unit which
should be the parallel unit from the power supply and leave unconnected for at least 15 minu-
tes. The component that is connected to the power supply is now the main control unit. Once
the 15 minutes have elapsed, connect the other control unit to the power supply, it is then
automatically the parallel control unit.
The display LED "siren" on the main control unit shows that a parallel control unit is connected
and if applicable a siren. If the communication with one or both components is hindered, the
display flashes as described in chapter 11, even if only one component is hindered.
