Problem
Possible Cause
Solutions
The satellite signal is not reaching
the receiver.
Check cabling.
Make sure the antenna is pointed correctly.
Peak if necessary.
The receiver is set to the incorrect
frequency/data rate.
Set the frequency through the MANUAL
ACQUISITION menu described in
Section
4.2.3 The Carrier Menu.
Make sure the LNB Voltage switch on the
back of the receiver is in the UP (on)
position.
The unit doesn’t lock.
The LNB or block down
converter is not receiving power.
If all else fails, try cycling the power (OFF,
then ON).
The output port is not configured. Configure the port for the desired provider
and service (see
Section 4.2.2 The Port
Menu
).
The selected service is not
authorized
Call your service provider to be authorized.
No audio present
The cabling is incorrect
Check the cabling (see
Appendix A, Audio
Decoder Module
).
The signal strength is low.
Peak the antenna.
Terrestrial interference is
“jamming” your signal.
Install shielding. Consult a local dish
installer.
Your LNB/LNA is not adjusted
correctly so you are experiencing
cross-pole interference.
Rotate the LNA/LNB to optimize the
polarity.
Audio is garbled or mutes
frequently.
You are experiencing adjacent
satellite interference.
Make sure your dish is at least 3.8m with
2
°
spacing.
Peak the antenna when the satellite is in
the center of its box. See
Section 7.2.1
