5.5 HYDRAULIC OIL
The recommended oil for priming is Hyspin® VG32 available in 0.5l (part number 07992-00002) or one gallon containers
(part number 07992-00006).
5.6 DISMANTLING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT – ENSURE THE MAINS POWER AND AIR SUPPLY TO THE MACHINE AND HYDRAULIC PUMP UNIT IS
SWITCHED OFF BEFORE DISMANTLING THE TOOL.
Instructions on installing and removing the module from the machine frame will be included in the Technical Manual
supplied with the machine. The Technical Manual will include full instructions on the dismantling, maintenance and
assembly of the tool.
Before Dismantling:
•
Remove the module from the machine.
•
Remove the nose assembly from the module as per the instructions in the Technical Manual supplied with the machine.
•
The potentially dangerous substances that could have deposited on the machine as a result of work processes must be
removed before maintenance.
For a complete service of the tool, we advise that you proceed with dismantling the tool in the order shown on pages 9 to
11. After dismantling the tool we recommend that you replace all seals.
Dismantling Instructions:
•
Using a 3mm Allen key remove the button head screw and the bonded seal on the bleed plug assembly (Item 6). If
either of these parts are damaged the whole assembly must be replaced.
•
Using a 15mm A/F spanner, unscrew the hexagon bleed screw assembly and remove the 1/8” bonded seal (item 6). If
either of these parts are damaged the whole assembly must be replaced.
•
Drain the remaining hydraulic oil from the tool.
•
Grip the body of the tool (Item 2), in the soft jaws of a vice. Using a 28mm A/F spanner, unscrew the locking nut (Item
11). Care should be taken with this operation as this part is under spring pressure (Item 15).
•
Remove the O-Ring (Item 16) from the locking nut (Item 11), using spatula (07900-00006). Inspect for wear and replace
as necessary.
•
Remove the spring (Item 15) from the bore of the tool.
•
Using the spanner for the piston (07900-00004), restrain the piston (Item 1). Remove the jaw spreader housing
assembly (item 14) by unscrewing it with a 5/8” A/F spanner.
•
Extract the piston (Item 1), from the rear of the tool. Care must be taken not to damage the internal bore of the body
(Item 2).
•
Using spatula (07900-00006), remove the seal (Item 4) from the piston (Item 8). Care must be taken not to damage the
sealing surfaces of the piston (Item 1).
•
Remove the bearing strip (Item 9). Inspect for wear and replace as necessary.
•
Remove the wiper housing (Item 3) from the body (Item 2).
