Page 53

Remove the master link from the spring-chain connection.

Reverse the procedures to reinstall the step chain. Lubricate the step
chain before reinstalling the covers.

STEP CHAIN RETAINER

Remove the side covers.

Loosen and remove the two step chain retainer bolts. These bolts are
also the top two mounting bolts for the drive hub assembly.

Reverse the removal procedures to install. Make sure there is
adequate clearance between the step chain and the retainer.

TRANSMISSON

Remove the side covers

Remove the Poly-V belt.

Remove the drive chain.

Remove the two screws located on the transmission bracket.

Support the transmisson while removing the four mounting
screws from the back side of the transmisson.

Installation is the reverse of removal.
