If the error cannot be eliminated using the specified procedures:

• Error description
• Intended use (in particular input and output wiring)

"ERR" LED is flashing
• Error in the field circuit
• Wire breakage or short
circuit
• Measuring range has been
overshot or undershot
• Check the "red" signal LEDs
• Eliminate the cause in the indicated
field circuit, check electrical lines and
field devices
Configuration is not correct or
the wrong module is connected
Change configuration in the automation
system or connect the correct module
Cyclic data transfer with the
automation system has been
interrupted
• Check the cyclic data transfer of
CPM or CPU (LCD or "RUN" LED)
• Check bus connection
• Activate the cyclic data transfer with
the automation system
"ERR" LED is lit
Module is defective
Replace the module
"M/S" LED is flashing
Ambient temperature is outside
the specification
Reduce ambient temperature,
e.g. by shading or cooling
Note: Module will be permanently damaged if
not rectified
"M/S" LED is lit
• Module is damaged due to
excessive temperature or
end of service life reached
• Fault in redundant BusRail
connection
• Slot address changed
without authorisation
• Replace the module as soon as
possible (within the next 12 months),
otherwise there is a risk of module
failure
• Check the BusRail connection and
CPU & PM
• Replace the module
16 x LEDs flash red
Line breakage or short circuit
Eliminate the cause in the indicated field
circuit, check electrical lines and field device
Note: "Short circuit" and "Line breakage
with test current deactivated" can only be
detected when the output is activated.
