Safety notes
Keep your radio device at least 90 cm away from your ship's magnetic
navigational compass.
The radio device is equipped with rechargeable NiMH batteries. Only
use the power supply unit or DC adapter provided for you in the box
to charge the batteries.
Never throw the batteries into a fire! Never short-circuit the battery
contacts.
The power supply unit and DC adapter must be protected from mois
ture/wetness.
If you have a pacemaker fitted, it is generally recommended that you
refrain from handling radio equipment! The radio device should not
be used in the immediate vicinity of persons fitted with pacemakers.
During transmission, do not touch the antenna or hold it directly to the
body, especially not towards the face or eyes.
When using a headset, make sure you do not operate your radio device
at a volume that is too high: your hearing could otherwise be damaged.
Do not operate radio equipment inside hospitals or similar facilities.
Switch off your device if you are in a potentially explosive environment
(e.g. petrol station).
Never open the housing of a radio device or the accessories and do
not make any modifications. Have repairs carried out by qualified
persons only. Modifications or interventions on the radio device auto
matically render the approval for use and the warranty null and void.
Prevent children from playing with the radio device, accessories and
the packaging!
If you notice odours or smoke coming from your device, switch off the
device immediately and remove the batteries.
You must also not use the device if you discover damage to the housing
or the antenna. Contact a specialist workshop.
Avoid operating temperatures below -20°C or above +60°C. Do not
expose the device to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
