Each
SPRITE
object contains four frames of animation indexed by
the
ORIENT CV
. These animation behaviors are noted to the right of
the table.
Return the
WORLD CORE
to default settings, making special note of
the
CLIP
toggles, which should be in the “
OFF
” position. Now locate
the
SPRITE 2
area of the control panel
and use the
X
and
Y
knobs to reposition
the
SPRITE
. Note that at the extreme
boundaries of the
X
and
Y
ranges, the
SPRITE
is hidden behind the black bor-
ders, allowing it to be quickly and easily
hidden or “turned off.”
Position the
SPRITE
in the center of the
display by setting both the
X
and
Y
knobs
to approximately high noon. Just like we
did with
TILEs
, try using the
OBJECT
and
ORIENT
knobs to audition the
SPRITE DATA
. Select the
MONARCH
SPRITE
(
OBJECT
position “4”), and then patch an
LFO
or cycling
ENVE-
LOPE
into the
ORIENT CV
input to animate its wings.
Now try using a pair of control voltages to animate the
SPRITE’s
po-
sition using the
X
and
Y CV
inputs, as shown below.
