Audio Decoder Digital/Analogue 5.1
Item no. 98 91 29
• An analogue stereo audio signal can be input to the 3.5 mm TRS jack “Aux”. Use an adapter
cable, if required (1x TRS plug 3.5 mm on 2x RCA plugs).
• Connect the low voltage plug from the enclosed wall plug transformer to the corresponding
socket on the audio converter.
• Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
• Select the desired channel using the “Input” button:
LED “D1” lights up -> optical input “Spdif 1”
LED “D2” lights up -> optical input “Spdif 2”
LED “D3” lights up -> coaxial input “Coaxial”
Only the power LED lights up -> analogue audio input “Aux”
• The audio output can be switched between the 2.1 and 5.1 audio playback using the “2.1/5.1”
button.
If you do not hear any audio signal, check that the digital audio output is enabled
on your playback device and that the correct input on the audio decoder has been
selected.
Handling
• Use only in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is a risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a warm one.
The condensation that forms might damage your unit. The wall plug transformer also poses a
risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it into use. This may take several hours.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transportation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- Cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or
fl
ammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows,
- Strong magnetic
fi
elds such as those found close to machinery or loudspeakers
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be carried out by authorised personnel.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the device, unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains outlet.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can
cause discolouration. Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch
marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential
damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modi
fi
cation of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy. Keep devices that operate on the mains voltage out of the reach of
children. Therefore, be especially careful when there are children around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product should be
allowed to become damp or wet; never take hold of it if your hands are wet!
Wall plug transformers have the potential to cause a fatal electric shock!
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with Protection Class II. Use only a standard
mains socket as the power source for the wall plug transformer.
• Use only the enclosed wall plug transformer to power the audio decoder.
• Do unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold it by
the sides of the casing and then unplug it from the mains socket.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from electric
shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer is connected
(switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or, for example remove the safety fuse or
switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so the socket is fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty
wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more. Replace it by
a wall plug transformer of the same design.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
Connection and Getting Started
• Connect the 6 RCA sockets for the analogue audio signal, e.g. to your ampli
fi
er:
FL = Audio signal “front left”
FR = Audio signal “front right”
SL = Surround signal “rear left”
SR = Surround signal “rear right”
CEN = Audio signal “Centre”
SW = Audio signal “Subwoofer”
• There are two optical inputs (“Spdif 1” and “Spdif 2”) as well as a coaxial input (RCA socket
“Coaxial”) for the digital audio signals.
