Using your VAIO computer

If you have a mobile CPU (see the printed
Specifications
sheet), a CPU control icon may appear in the taskbar. The CPU control icon indicates the CPU control status
(Performance, Adaptive, Battery Life, Degrade). To make the icon appear, click the
Advanced
button on the
VAIO Power Management
tab. Select the
Show CPU status
icon in the taskbar
box and then click
OK
.

Restoring the default settings
The power scheme settings that you changed on the
VAIO Power Management
tab can be restored to the default settings.
To restore the default settings, proceed as follows:

Select the
VAIO Power Management
tab in the
Power Options Properties
window.

Click
Advanced
.
The
VAIO Power Management
window appears.

Click the
Reset by default
button.
The
Confirm
window appears.

Select the
Restore all power schemes to the original factory default settings
.

Click
OK
.
The
Confirm
window closes and the default settings are restored for all the power scheme options.
VAIO Maximum Battery
When running on battery only and no AC adapter is attached, it provides power saving
features to give you maximum battery life and good performance. It reduces the
brightness of the display and puts the system into
Standby
mode after a specified time
period.
VAIO Ultimate Battery
When running on battery only and no AC adapter is attached, it extends the
VAIO
Maximum Battery
by saving power for some specific devices.
