Using VAIO Media
122
Troubleshooting
I cannot find the VAIO Music, Photo, and Video servers
❑
If the
Internet Connection Firewall
feature of Windows
®
XP is enabled or if you are using other
software that has personal firewall functions, the server software programs may not work properly.
Disable firewall functions for network connections that are not directly connecting to the Internet.
❑
If the server software cannot be found for other reasons, try the following steps:
❑
Restart the server software programs by using VAIO Media Console on the server computer.
❑
Restart VAIO Media Client.
❑
Restart both the server computer and the client computer on which VAIO Media is running.
❑
It may take some time for the server to become available after it was switched on. If you cannot find the
server at first, please launch VAIO Media again after a couple of minutes.
The sound stutters and/or video playback is not smooth
❑
In some situations, your network devices or the status of your network may prevent sound or video
content from playing properly. Sound may stutter, or video may not play smoothly.
❑
If you are using a wireless network, such problems can be caused by radio interference.
❑
Sound may stutter or motion picture may not play smoothly when the processor usage is high on the
computer running VAIO Media client because other software programs are running at the same time. In
this situation, quit the other programs, and try VAIO Media again.
I cannot play music files in OpenMG format
VAIO Media cannot play music files in OpenMG format if the music files are simultaneously being played by
other software programs, such as SonicStage or VAIO Media.
