ANALOG OUTPUT
Analog output from the D/A converter (equivalent
to XLR3-32), with pin 2 being hot.
When the level meter reads 0 dBFS, analog output is
yielded at an analog level of +24 dBu. The output
level can be varied to the average output level
(+8 dBu/FS) of a CD player by setting an internal
jumper connector. If you want the output level
changed, please consult your nearest Sony dealer.
WARNING!
Have this setting carried out by a Sony service
person.
To avoid electrical shock hazards that could result
in physical injury or death, never open the cover.
9
ANALOG INPUT
Analog input to the D/A converter (equivalent to
XLR3-31) at a maximum input level ranging from
–6 dBu to +24 dBu.
Note
Not to connect a microphone or musical instrument directly
to this unit, but to use a mixer or compressor/limiter to
adjust and compress their input before submitting it to the
A/D converter.
!º
DIGITAL OUTPUT
Digital output from the A/D converter, consisting of
AES/EBU output and IEC958 output, which are
generated at the same time.
Note
The channel status of AES/EBU output is not supplied with
word-length data.
!¡
Sampling frequency (Fs) selection switch
Selects the sampling frequency of the A/D converter
from between 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz.
When the switch is set on EXT SYNC, the sampling
frequency is synchronized with the sync signal
selected with EXT SYNC selection switch
!¢
.
!™
Word length (BIT) selection switch
Sets the word length (bit) of the digital output from
the A/D converter to 16, 20, or 24 bits.

terminator switch
Turns on or off the 75-ohm terminator of WORD
SYNC IN connector
!∞
.
Set the switch to meet the specifications of the
equipment to which the unit is connected.
!¢
EXT SYNC selection switch
Sets the source of the reference clock that is used for
the A/D converter.
Sampling frequencies of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz can be
synchronized.
DIGITAL INPUT:
Synchronized with the clock of the digital signal
inputting to the unit.
WORD SYNC IN:
Synchronized with external WORD SYNC input
!∞
.
!∞
External WORD SYNC IN and OUT
Connect the equipment that provides a source of the
reference clock to the IN connector.
Note
The OUT connector provides a buffered output. The output
would not be available, therefore, when the unit is off.
!§
Power cord
Match the white line on the cord to the “N” (neutral)
mark of the AC outlet for better sound quality.
