Game play
One special feature that will add lots of enjoyment to the basic VCR
concept of recording and playback is this video game, The Tile Game.
The object
The object of the game is to collect as many points as possible by
removing tiles in pairs.
The game has a total of 255 stages, each stage becoming slightly more
difficult. Clear each stage by removing all the tiles on the screen.
Rules
•
To remove the tiles, select pairs of matching tiles.
•
You cannot select a tile if it is bordered with the tiles of the same color
on both the left and right sides.
The hidden tiles
The tiles may be arranged in layers up to three.
If the tiles are arranged in three layers, the surface layer is red. The
hidden middle and bottom layers are blue and gray respectively. If the
tiles are arranged in two layers the surface one is blue and the hidden
one is gray. If the tiles don’t have any hidden layers, the tiles are gray.
The hidden tile reveals itself after you remove the one above it. You
have to remove all the tiles to complete the stage (game), including the
hidden ones.
Collecting points
Your present score is shown under “YOU.” Your score is the total of the
present stage points and all the former stages you’ve cleared in the
game. The present stage number is shown under “STAGE.”
The highest score ever achieved is saved in the VCR memory and
shown under “BEST.”
