Installation
Utility software and FAM
driver
To install the utility software, insert the
supplied CD-ROM (PDW-D1 PC Utility)
in the computer’s CD-ROM drive, and then
run the PC Utility program, which is located
in the PC_Utility folder of the Mac folder
on the CD-ROM.
To install the FAM driver, insert the
supplied CD-ROM (XDCAM Application)
into the CD-ROM drive of your computer,
navigate to the FAM Driver directory, and
run the installer in the directory for your
operating system.
For the operating environment required for the
utility software, see page 13.
• The utility software operates using the
FAM (file access mode) protocol, and
therefore requires the FAM driver to be
installed in the computer.
• Pins 1, 3, and 4 of switch S1401 on the
rear panel of the unit must be set to OFF
(the factory default setting is OFF) to
enable utility software settings. If any of
these pins are in the ON position, return
them to the OFF position.
