Using the product recovery CD-ROMs

The Product Recovery CD-ROMs supplied with your computer allow you to perform a full system recovery, 
and help you reinstall individual applications and device drivers manually.

Perform an 

Application Recovery

 to:

Reinstall an individual driver if a device is not functioning properly.

Reinstall an individual application if you have problems running it.

Perform a 

System Recovery

 in the following cases:

In the event of a serious system crash.

If you want to modify the size of the hard drive partitions.

!

You can only use these product recovery CD-ROMs on the Sony computer they came with and not on any other Sony PC or other manufacturer's PC.

Performing an application recovery

The final CD in the set of product recovery CD-ROMs contains all the applications that were preinstalled on 
your computer. Reinstalling a program from this application CD can fix the problems encountered if it does 
not run correctly anymore, or if Windows

®

 is having a problem running a device.

To perform an application recovery, proceed as follows:

Turn on your computer (using AC power only) and wait until Windows

®

 has booted up.

Insert the 

final

 product recovery CD-ROM into the disc drive.

3

Open the drive through 

My Computer

 and open the 

Apps

 folder.

4

Open the folder of the application you want to reinstall.

5

Double-click the 

Setup

 file.
