Record with focus transition.

Press the ASSIGN 4 button repeatedly
to show the [EXEC] screen.

Press the START/STOP button.

Press the ASSIGN 5 button to record
with FOCUS-A, and press the ASSIGN
6 button to record with FOCUS-B. The
focus shifts from the current position to
the registered position.
• You can change the transition time to FOCUS-
A, or to FOCUS-B ([TRANSITION TIME],
p. 90).
• You can set the time to start the transition after
pressing the ASSIGN 5 button or the ASSIGN 6
button ([START TIMER], p. 90).
• You can link the time you press the START/
STOP button with the time to start recording
([REC LINK], p. 90).
To cancel the focus transition
Press the ASSIGN 4 button repeatedly to
cancel, or press the MENU button

Notes
• If you perform focus transition from an arbitrary
focal position, it is not possible to return the
focus to that position from FOCUS-A or
FOCUS-B.
• If you press any of the following buttons or
perform any of the following operations during
focus transition, focus transition is cancelled.
– MENU button
– VISUAL INDEX button
– EXPANDED FOCUS button
– S&Q button
– Any of the ASSIGN button assigned
[LAST SCENE REVIEW], [VISUAL
INDEX], [SPOT FOCUS] or
[EXPANDED FOCUS].
– Remove the lens.
– Zoom the lens.
• If you perform any of the following operations,
registered focal positions on FOCUS-A and
FOCUS-B are reset.
– Set the POWER switch to OFF.
– Remove the lens.
– Zoom the lens.

Tips
• You can shift the focus from FOCUS-A to
FOCUS-B-registered positions, or vice versa.
For example, to shift from FOCUS-A to
FOCUS-B-registered positions, press the
ASSIGN 5 button on the confirmation screen to
set to FOCUS-A, then press the ASSIGN 6
button on the execution screen.
• If you press the ASSIGN 5 button or the
ASSIGN 6 button before pressing the START/
STOP button in step 4, you can rehearse the
focus transition.
