Notes
• Audio is monaural when using KEY
CONTROL.
• The key control setting returns to “K-
CON OFF” automatically when you turn
the power off.
Recording the
Karaoke
(microphone mixing)
You can “mix” sounds by playing one of
the components and singing or speaking
into a microphone (not supplied). The
mixed sounds can then be recorded on a
tape.

Do steps 1 to 6 in “Karaoke: Singing
Along”.

After adjusting the volume, choose the
track you want to record and set the CD
player to play pause mode.
When you sing with tape, choose the
track in deck A and set the deck to stop
mode.

Press

EJECT and insert a blank tape
into deck B with the side you want to
record on facing forward.
Recording will start from the front side
of the tape, unless you have changed the
playing direction before recording.
Make sure the tabs on the cassette have
not been removed.

REC.
Deck B stands by for recording.

PAUSE to release recording
pause.
Recording starts.
Recording always stops at the end of the
reverse side if you set the direction to

or RELAY.

Start playing the sound source and sing
into the microphone.

Disconnect the microphone and press

To record from the microphone only

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until “CD”
appears in the display. If a CD is being
played, press

on the CD player to
stop playing.

Start recording.

Adding an Echo effect
(digital echo)
You can add an echo effect to the sound
coming from the microphone.

Press DIGITAL ECHO.
ECHO ON appears in the display.

Hold down DIGITAL ECHO for more
than a second.
ECHO level flashes in the display.

Turn the JOG dial to choose the ECHO
level you want.
The display changes as follows:
Larger numbers indicate a stronger
effect.

Press ENTER/NEXT.
To cancel the echo effect
Press DIGITAL ECHO again.
“ECHO OFF” appears in the display and
the DIGITAL ECHO button goes out.
Note
Surround effect is cancelled when the
DIGITAL ECHO is turned on. The
surround effect does not automatically
return to the previous setting when the
DIGITAL ECHO is turned off. Press DSP to
turn the surround effect back on.
To change the key (key
control)
You can adjust the key through 13 semitone
steps (6 steps higher or 6 steps lower than
