There is no sound.
The “WALKMAN” or the USB device is not
connected correctly. Turn off the unit, turn on the
unit again, and then reconnect the “WALKMAN”
or the USB device. Make sure that “WM-PORT” or
“USB” lights up in the display.
There is noise, sound skipping, or distorted
sound.
Turn off the unit, then reconnect the “WALKMAN”
or the USB device.
The music data itself contains noise. Noise may have
been introduced when creating music data due to the
conditions of the computer. Create the music data
again.
The “WALKMAN” or the USB device cannot be
connected into the (USB) port.
The “WALKMAN” or the USB device is being
connected backwards. Connect the device in the
correct orientation.
“Reading” is displayed for an extended time, or it
takes a long time before playback starts.
The reading process can take a long time in the
following cases.
There are many folders or files on the
“WALKMAN” or the USB device.
The file structure is extremely complex.
The memory capacity is excessive.
The audio files are damaged.
Erroneous display
Transfer the track to the “WALKMAN” or the USB
device again, as the data stored in the “WALKMAN”
or the USB device may have been corrupted.
The character codes that can be displayed by this
unit are numbers and alphabet only. Other characters
are not displayed correctly.
Playback does not start.
You are using an unsupported “WALKMAN” or
USB device. See ““WALKMAN” models and USB
devices supported by this unit” (page 78) for the
supported “WALKMAN” models and USB device.

USB device may not support all of these FAT. For

If you use partitioned USB device, only MP3, WMA
and AAC tracks on the first partition can be played.
Playback is possible up to 8 levels.
The number of folders has exceeded 1,000.
The number of tracks has exceeded 10,000.
Files that are encrypted or protected by passwords,
etc. cannot be played back.
