Cause and/or corrective actions
• Moisture condensation has occurred.

Remove the cassette and leave the VCR for at least 1 hour. (p. 53)
• The video heads are dirty.

Clean the heads using the Sony DVM12CL cleaning cassette (not
supplied). (p. 54)
• You are using a battery pack that is not an “InfoLITHIUM” battery
pack.

Use an “InfoLITHIUM” battery pack. (p. 51)
• A servicable situation not malfunctioned above has occurred.

Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate the VCR.

Disconnect the power cord of the AC adaptor/charger or remove
the battery pack. After reconnecting the power source, operate
the VCR.
• A VCR malfunction which you cannot service has occurred.

Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility

This function displays the VCR’s condition with
five digits (a combination of a letter and figures)
on the LCD screen. If this occurs, check the
following code chart. The five-digit display
informs you of the VCR’s current condition. The
last two digits (indicated by

) will differ
depending on the state of the VCR.
