Warning indicators and messages
If indicators and messages appear on the screen, check the following.

Warning indicators

Warning indicator as to file
Slow flashing:
•The file is corrupted.
•The file is unreadable.
•You are trying to use the MEMORY MIX
function on a moving picture (p. 140).

Warning indicator as to battery
Slow flashing:
•The battery is nearly dead.
The
E
indicator sometimes flashes even if
the remaining battery time is about five to
10 minutes depending on the operating
conditions, environment and battery
condition.
Fast flashing:
•The battery pack is dead.
•The battery pack is completely dead, and
cannot be charged.
Tape/Battery pack warning indicator
Slow flashing:
•The battery pack is nearly dead.
•The tape is near the end.
Fast flashing:
•The battery pack is dead.
•The tape has run out.*

Moisture condensation has occurred

Fast flashing:
•Eject the cassette, turn off your camcorder,
and leave it for about one hour with the
cassette compartment open (p. 247).

Warning indicator as to tape
Slow flashing:
•The remaining tape becomes shorter than
the length for five-minute recording.
•No tape is inserted.*
•The write-protect tab on the cassette is set
to LOCK (red) * (p. 29).
Fast flashing:
•The cassette has run out of tape.*
Warning indicator as to incompatible
“Memory Stick”

Slow flashing:
•An incompatible “Memory Stick” is
inserted.
* You hear the melody or beep.
