Chapter 4 Using the BSV-M1 Administration Menu
Updating Software
The server system can be updated in “Software Update”.
Caution
• Never install or update software other than that distributed by Sony for the
BSV-M1. Installing or updating other software may destroy data or damage
the system.
• Confirm that the system is not backing up data, and then update the software.
• Operation of the server is not assured if the upgrade is not installed from a
Sony package file.

Copy the package file (distributed by Sony) to the hard disk of the
computer.
Caution
The package file is copied to the location indicated in the “Target” field on
the screen in Step 3. The location entered in the “Target” field must be all
in single-byte alphanumeric characters except a location symbol.
(Example) C:\Windows\temp

Verify that backup/restore processing is not in progress.

Click “Maintenance” on the BSV-M1 Administration Menu, then click
“Software Update”.
You can also directly click “Update” which is located above
“Maintenance”.
The “Software Update” page appears.
