Service Overview
2-2. Filter Cleaning
A filter is attached on the rear of the front panel assembly
of the VSR-2000A.
Accumulation of dirt on the filter blocks ventilation will be
cause of the heat to build up inside the unit. This may
cause trouble to assure full performance of the VSR-
2000A.
Therefore periodic cleaning of the filter is recommended.

Cleaning
1.
Remove the front panel assembly.
(Refer to Section 1-7.)
2.
Remove the filter from the front panel assembly.
3.
Vacuum the dust accumulated on the filter with a
vacuum cleaner.
4.
Install the filter and front panel assembly by reversing
the disassembling procedure. (Refer to Section 1-7.)
2-1. Circuit Protection Device
The circuit protection device (positive thermistor) is
mounted on the MB-755A board.
If overcurrent flows through the circuit when the power is
provided from the switching regulator to each HDD unit,
or the ambient temperature of the device rises, the internal
resistance of the device will increase suddenly. This limits
the current flowing through the circuit.
When the circuit protection device operates, turn off the
power and check the circuit to eliminate the cause of the
overcurrent. After waiting for the device to cool off, turn
on the power again. The circuit protection device will be
reset automatically.
