Overview
Overview
The DVS-7150 Digital Video Switcher is a high-
performance, multi-functional, composite (D2)/
component (D1) format digital switcher for use in the
construction of digital video systems. It is suitable for
use in applications ranging from live production
systems, such as in studios or OB vans, to editing
systems such as those found in post-production houses.
Most switcher operations are carried out using the
optional BKDS-7017 Switcher Control Panel.
Features
Easy system switching
With control panel settings, the system’s operating
condition such as the signal type (composite/
component), aspect ratio (16:9/4:3), and component
signal format (525/625 lines) can be switched without
changing any installed boards.
Completely digital processing for high picture
quality and excellent stability
Inheriting the digital video processing technology
established by the DVS-7000, this switcher provides
superior image quality and a high degree of image
processing power.
Serial digital I/O
All digital input or output is performed serially.
Transmitting each video signal over a single coaxial
cable greatly simplifies system configuration. Further,
it is possible to transmit signals over longer distances,
compared to conventional parallel I/O.
Link operation with DME
The DME-7000 Digital Multi Effects can be connected
to the switcher system. Using the fader levers, DME
operations can be performed much as wipes are. Using
an optional key frame or DME control panel unit, you
can control key frame link or DME operations. (This
requires the BKDS-7075 Control Panel Remote
Adaptor.)
Numerous options
Options are available for a wide variety of uses, such
as serial digital and analog composite I/O expansion,
analog component chroma key input, and chroma
keying.
Interface with external equipment
Since this switcher can be connected to units such as
the Sony DVS-6464B Routing Switcher, it can be built
into large-scale systems.
Further, by connecting the switcher to a device such as
the BVE-9100 Editing Control Unit, high-level editing
operations such as status report and EDL (edit decision
list) management can be performed efficiently.
Power- and space-saving design
By employing large-scale integration ICs using the
latest technology, the switcher provides a high level of
performance and functionality in a smaller package
and using less electricity than previous switchers.
Complete remote control functionality
Full remote control of M/E banks is possible by
connecting the BKDS-2010 as a subpanel.
Further, key adjustment (such as chroma key) can be
performed with the optional BKDS-7060 Keyer
Remote Control Panel. Remote control of the AUX
bus, shot box, etc., is also possible.
