Connecting external display
The MDSm provides connections for an external display. For specific information on using the
external display, including warnings and cautions, see the manufacturer’s operating instructions.

Connect cables 1 Ensure that the pre-routed DC power supply cord ( A ) is connected to the
mini-dock and that the pre-installed AC power cord ( I ) is connected to the
power strip.
See Figure 4 and “Cables, connectors, and mini-dock symbols” on page 14.
2 Remove both protective covers from the DVI cable ( T ).
3 Connect the following cables:
• DVI cable ( T )
• AC power cord ( J )
• DC power cord ( S )
4 Feed the system AC power cord ( K ) through the power cord protector hole at
back of the lower shelf, and then connect it to a hospital-grade electrical outlet.
A firm push may be required to fit the cord through the protector hole.
