6.2.3 Menu
– Analysis
In this menu, all variables of the built-in algorithms can be changed. It is also possible to set the
display colour for each analysis trace and set the colour of the classification box for each event. See
red box marked in the figures below. It is also possible to set the Source Signal to be used for
analysing the study. See blue box marked in the figures below.
6.2.3.1 Sleep Wake Analysis
The determination result from the Activity Analysis and if applicable the Body Position Analysis
(Body Position = upright
→
epoch is rated as WAKE).

1)
Ø Activity Threshold (Units)
You can define the limit (threshold) a signal must exceed in relation to the baseline to be detected as
activity. If activity above threshold is detected during an epoch, the epoch will be rated as Wake.
Fig. 6.5: Activity Threshold
2)
Number epoch before/after
This function reduces the number of short periods that are scored as Wake because of e.g. changing
the body position during sleep.
The software analyses the actual epoch, and also the defined number of epochs before and after. The
calculated value must be above the
Activity Threshold
to be scored as Wake.
3)
Extension of wake phase (epoch)
If an epoch of Wake is detected, the Wake phase will be extended by the entered number of epochs.
4)
Min. epoch number
If the number of consecutive sleep epochs is below or
equal the set value at “
Sleep
”, those epochs
are counted as Wake. This also prevents short periods with low activity during the day to be counted
as sleep.
If the number of consecutive wake epoch
s is below or equal the set value at “
Wake
”, those epochs are
counted as Sleep. This also prevents short periods with higher activity during sleep to be counted as
wake.
