3.2 Streaming connecting MX2400
to a WiFi LAN
In this case, MX2400 obtains Internet access via
WiFi network. The transmission is unidirectional.
From MX2400 to Studios.
3.2.1
Connection and setup
The default settings are for the use of a 3G USB
Modem. In order to the codec-mixer MX2400 access
to a WiFi network, you need to change the
configuration of the internal router MX2400.
MX2400 generates its own WiFi node, which can be
accessed from any WiFi device (Laptop, Tablet,
Smartphone), to edit the configuration. This own
network appear as "MX2400" among the available
networks. Do not confuse MX2400 network, with
WiFi network used to transmit streaming. The
MX2400 node is always available to access the
internal configuration.

On the rear panel, confirm the existence of the
cable-bridge connecting the RJ45 "Ethernet
streaming" and "3G LAN".

Turn on the MX2400

Enable the "streaming" button on the front
panel.

Using a laptop, tablet or smartphone, look for
available WiFi networks.

Connect to the "MX2400" (network password:
streaming).

Open a Web browser and enter 192.168.0.254
(user:
admin
- Password:
admin
) This opens
the settings panel of the MX2400 internal
router. Enter the following values:
a) System Tool → Working Mode: enable
"software switch mode" and select "WISP
Router client." Press Save. The internal router
will reboot. This operation may take several
seconds. Once the MX2400 re-startconnect
the laptop back to the 'MX2400' net.
b) Wireless → Wireless setting: Press the
"Survey" button. A list of available WiFi
networks appears.
c) Select the network used to transmit and
click "Connect". Automatically be selected
MAC-address of the network.
d) Select "Key Type" and select the method of
encryption security to the WiFi network you
want to connect (Windows shows the
encryption on the list of available networks)
e) Password: enter the password for the WiFi
network
f) Press Save!
7) Check if you have Internet access in the
MX2400 Laptop connected to the network,
accessing any Web site. If you successfully
navigate the WiFi setup was successful. The
MX2400 console is already able of transmitting
streaming.
8) If you do not have Internet access, go back to
point 6 and review the settings for the Wi-Fi
network.
By default, IP audio module of the MX2400 streams
to the server Solidyne to test transmission. To
change the destination IP, you access via Wi-FI to
the settings pannel fo the audio-IP module, as
explained in
"4.1 - Setup IP module"
.
The studios receives the streaming with a standard
audio player (see
Chapter 5 - Operation in Studios
).
You can use a telephone channel of the MX2400 to
communicate with the technical operator at studios
and confirm receipt of the streaming (see
3.5 -
Return from Studios
).
3.3 Streaming connecting MX2400
to LAN with Ethernet cable
In this case, the MX2400 access the Internet by
connecting to a LAN using standard RJ45 cable. The
transmission is unidirectional from the MX2400 to the
studios.
Connection and IP setup
By default, the computer is configured to operate with
USB MODEM. To connect to a LAN, you must
change the IP address of the unit. This must be done
BEFORE you connect the MX2400 to the LAN, it
requires the cable-bridge joining "Ethernet
streaming" to "LAN 3G" on rear panel.
