Assembling and connecting external batteries
The UPS supports the use of standard lead-acid batteries, and also lithium-
ion batteries. If you plan to use lithium-ion batteries, consult with Gamatronic
Support to be sure that the battery setup parameter values are appropriate
for the batteries you will be using.
All battery terminal connection torque values must be in accordance with the
battery manufacturer specifications.
To assemble and connect external batteries:
A “battery string” or “battery set” is the basic number of batteries required to provide standard
backup capabilities. For the UPS, this is 32 x 12 V batteries. A battery string may be housed in one
or more battery cabinets. For extended backup time, multiple battery sets can be attached to the
UPS.

Ideally, the external battery cabinet(s) should be located as close to the UPS as is
practical.

Assemble the batteries within the battery cabinet.

Figure 12 shows the recommended connection to the UPS for a single battery set,
which includes two fuses inside of each battery cabinet. One fuse should be placed on
the plus line and one on the minus line of every 16 batteries. The recommended fuse
