Mechanically Jointed Rodless Cylinder

Guide for Using Side Support
For long stroke operation, the cylinder tube
may be deflected depending on its own
weight and the load weight. In such a case,
use a side support in the middle section. The
spacing (
l
) of the support must be no more
than the values shown in the graph on the
right.

Side Support
Note) A side support must be used to keep
the spacing from exceeding the value
inside the parentheses.
q
If the cylinder mounting surfaces are not
measured accurately, using a side support
may cause poor operation. Therefore, be
sure to level the cylinder tube when
mounting. Also, for long stroke operation
involving vibration and impact, use of a
side support is recommended even if the
spacing value is within the allowable limits
shown in the graph.
w
Support brackets are not for mounting; use
them solely for providing support.
