X.21
The X.21 cable connects an HSD module to an X.21
interface, such as a terminal adapter.
You can configure an HSD module through the software
as DTE or DCE. Use the DCE or DTE version of the X.21
cable, depending on the configuration. Refer to the
Administration Guide to learn how to configure modules.
Note
The X.21 cables look identical but have different
pin assignments.
The cables provide

A 26-pin D-shell male that connects to the module
❐
A 15-pin D-shell female or male that connects to the
network interface device
When building your own X.21 cable, use no more than
200 feet (61 meters) of Belden 9808 computer cable, or
equivalent.
