Note:
- When an emergency shutdown is per-
formed, the “Emergency Stop” pop-up (Fig-
ure 12,) flashes on the display.
- When performing an emergency shutdown,
the speed indication is not displayed be-
cause the power to the motor is cut off.
- If the flywheel was running at top speed, it
will take about 2 hours to stop completely.
- To clear the EMERGENCY STOP label, return-
ing to the normal Home page screen, press
the “EMERGENCY STOP” banner in the mid-
dle of the screen.
- To restart the system, press the power (ON/
OFF) icon.
Emergency shutdown
Emergency shutdown is a method to stop the
rotation of the flywheel, by forcing the motor
drive to cut power to the motor by means of a
hardware circuitry and not via a software com-
mand (as during normal shutdown).
This shutdown mode can be invoked by the
operator, for example when there is an anom-
aly in the communication line with the motor
drive (in these conditions the motor drive can-
not receive any stop command).
Follow the normal shutdown procedure except
in an emergency.
1. Display the home page.
2. Keep pressed the power (ON/OFF) icon
(Figure 12, (1)) for about 3 seconds.
