6.3 Testing battery capacity
6.3.1 Testing battery voltage
The emergency opening automatically checks the battery voltage and the 15 A fuse by briefly reducing the
charging voltage (approx. 5 seconds) every 3 minutes.
The check can also be carried out manually by turning the button to
Test
.
DOL 278 ON/OFF´s battery capacity is not checked automatically if two emergency openings are connected in
parallel. Instead, perform weekly ”Testing the battery capacity with disconnected supply voltage/phase break”.
6.3.2 Testing the battery capacity with disconnected supply voltage/phase
break
1. If two emergency openings are connected in parallel the green light on the front of the DOL 278 ON/OFF
must remain lit during the entire test.
2. Check that one of the battery lamps lights yellow or green.
(If the red battery lamp is on, the battery is almost discharged and should be charged for 20 minutes before
the test, or the 15 A battery fuse/battery wire is disconnected).
3. Switch of the supply voltage for the emergency opening and the house controller.
4. Check that the relevant battery lamp is flashing and that the upper red lamp(s) is/are on indicating a power
failure/phase break.
5. Turn one of the emergency temperature buttons (counterclockwise) to 10 °C =
Test
.
6. Check that the red emergency opening lamp and green opening lamp switch on and are constantly on.
7. Check that the system opens in the correct house.
8. Check that the green or yellow battery lamp is still on.
For two-house emergency opening, carry out the same procedure in house 2 while house 1 is still com-
pletely open. This is to ensure that the battery capacity is sufficient for opening both houses.
9. Switch the supply voltage on again.
10. Turn the emergency temperature button back to the required position.
The house controller must reset the shutters.
If the test is carried out while it is cold outside (below 20 °C) the DOL 278T will keep regulating the shutters
three minutes after voltage returns to the house controller. This is to prevent heat loss though the house con-
troller opening the shutters during start-up.
If the test is carried out while it is warm outside (above 20 °C), the house controller will, however, start the fans
again as soon as possible.
