MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING,
REPAIR AND SPARE PARTS
The EQ 55 is a sturdy, well-built piece of electronic equipment. In this chapter you
will find information on how to keep it in good working condition and what to do if
a problem should arise.
5.1
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
5.1.1
Surface Cleaning
To keep the EQ 55 cabinet and display screen clean, wipe the surfaces with a
clean damp cloth. For heavier cleaning, using a clean, damp cloth which has been
dipped in a solution of a mild dish detergent (like Joy) and water. Wring out
firmly to avoid dripping water into the cabinet and electrical components.
5.1.2
Electrical Connections
Periodically check the electrical connections. Make sure that connections are tight
and that no cables are frayed or worn. In the event of frayed or worn cables,
have them repaired or replaced by a qualified electrician.
5.1.3
Mounting Bracket
Periodically check the mounting of the EQ 55 to its mounting surface to insure
that it is secure, especially in the event of high seas.
5.1.4
Transducer
Periodically clean the face of the transducer with a plastic utensil using a
scrubbing action. Do not use a harsh abrasive or a solvent to clean the
transducer.
