Torque Mower Blades

1. Check that blades are installed with the tabs pointing

up toward deck as shown in Figure 12.  Secure with a
capscrew, spring washer and spline/hex washer (be
certain the spline/hex washer is aligned with the
shaft).  Note: 40” models also use an alignment pin
(see Parts Book).  Use a wooden block to prevent
blade rotation and torque capscrews to 45-55 ft.lbs.
(61-75 N.m.).

Hitch & Leveling Rod Assembly

Prestige/1800/2800 & Conquest/1700/2700 44” & 50”
Models: 
Remove the hardware (B, C, D, F, Figure 13a)
from mower leveling rod (A) and flip hitch (E) over from
the shipping position.  

Reinstall the leveling rod (A) in the bottom hitch hole
using the hardware removed in step one. Install the hard-
ware as shown in Figure 13a.

Broadmoor/1600/2600 Series  44” & 50” Models:
Remove the hardware (B, C, D, F, Figure 13b) from
mower leveling rod (A) and flip hitch (E) over from the
shipping position.  

Reinstall the leveling rod (A) in the bottom hitch hole
using the hardware removed in step one. Install the hard-
ware as shown in Figure 13b.

54” Models: After sliding the mower under the tractor,
install the hitch rod (A, Figure 14) and leveling rods (B,
D).  Secure with washers and clips (C).

WARNING

For your personal safety, blade mounting
capscrews must each be installed with a hex
washer and spring washer, then securely
tightened. Torque blade mounting capscrew to 
45 - 55 ft. lbs. (61 - 75 N.m.)
